At La Vaca Gigante, the challenge doesn’t begin when the horn sounds. It starts much earlier. It starts within me.

I’m Vinicius dos Santos, and facing one of the biggest waves in Europe is not just about strength, technique, or courage. It’s a deep conversation with the ocean, with the respect it deserves, and with the clarity that every decision out there truly matters.

But this year, my challenge goes beyond surfing.

Every wave I attempt to ride at La Vaca Gigante carries a greater purpose: to support the work of Lovaas Foundation. An organization that works every day to improve the quality of life of people with autism spectrum disorder and their families, providing early intervention, commitment, and hope.

That’s why every paddle toward the peak is not just mine. Every fall, every achievement, and every emotion is part of something collective. A real opportunity to transform lives, to build support, and to create a better future.
