Bicycles for the education of children and young people in Senegal

We are Pertot, a store specialized in mountain sports located in Puigcerdà. Years ago, we created the cycling community Pertot Society to share our passion for cycling together.

For us, cycling is not just a sport, but a tool capable of transforming lives and opening up new opportunities. With this in mind, we have created the Cerdanya Cycling Calendar 2026. A calendar of cycling activities open to everyone, where each registration becomes a direct contribution to this challenge. We also aim to involve the entire cycling community so that, together, we can go much further.

The goal of this challenge is to raise funds to provide bicycles to students in Senegal. With them, they will be able to travel to school more quickly and safely, improving their access to education and their daily lives.

In many rural areas of Senegal, continuing education beyond primary school is not just a matter of motivation. For many young people, simply reaching secondary school is already a major challenge.

Every day, dozens of students walk long distances, often more than an hour each way. This daily effort leads to absenteeism, school dropout, and limited educational opportunities, especially for girls.

We want to help change this reality.

This project is carried out together with Bicicletas Sin Fronteras, an organization with extensive experience in Senegal, working for years to ensure that distance is never a barrier to learning.
